How I work

Once you have decided you would like me to make a keepsake these are the next steps.

Collect your dogs hair. This is best done through daily brushing. I recommend a slicker brush, rake or comb. If you groom your pet by clipping I can spin certain hair types but they will require blending with another fibre. The collected undercoat hair is best stored in paper or cardboard and must be completely dry. It can be temporarily compressed in plastic for mailing to me. You can also have your unique gift made even more personal. Some examples can be seen by clicking on the link below. If this is something you might like I'm happy to work through ideas with you and advise.

Once I receive the hair it will be carded, spun and plied. It will then be allowed to rest before washing, rinsing in essential oils and drying.

The yarn is then ready to be knitted into your selected keepsake. If you are requesting spinning only the yarn will be balled and wrapped in a band bearing your dogs name. It will then be sent to you gift boxed.
