Some of my feedback!

I found Thread Bears on Facebook and was immediately intrigued.  At the time, I had three very hairy dogs and started saving their hair so that I could have a keepsake from them once they passed. I found that urns and stuffed toys made to look like my deceased pet didn’t provide me much comfort, or connection to my beloved pet.  I missed touching them, smelling them.

Four days before Christmas 2021, I had to say goodbye to my beloved Siberian Husky, Roxy.  She was a little more than 15 years old.  After Christmas, I packaged up her hair that I had been collecting and sent it off to Lisa Napier-Burrows, (the artist behind Thread Bears).  So “Roxy” was on her way to the UK and it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.  I usually don’t do special things for myself, but I am SO glad that I did.Lisa is a dream to work with and is so much more than someone who spins yarn and knits (although those are valuable things).  She has an artist’s eye and a very caring heart.  She worked closely with me to give me the most special keepsake she could.  She customized her design so that her “sleeping bear” now had open eyes of turquoise blue to match the color of my Roxy.  She took the time to needle felt the black eyeliner around Roxy’s eyes and the result is perfect.  I also asked that she not combine Roxy’s fur with that of another animal and she honored that request by using a silk like fiber made from seaweed.  It’s that attention to detail that makes Lisa so special. Lisa is always available to work with you, answer questions, and provides progress pictures if you are interested.  I was.  When Roxy finally made it home, it was better than Christmas.  I felt such joy and comfort.  It was like having a piece of Roxy back with me.  Whenever I hold this bear, I feel connected to my dog.  I miss her so and this is the next best thing to having her back with me. I highly recommend Thread Bears Cheingora.  I have two bags full of fur from each of my two dogs waiting to send to her when the time comes.
